About us

Who is The Level Code?

The Level Code (THE LEVEL CODE) is a deliberately small studio: a single point of contact from scoping to maintenance, and an in-house product run in production. Here is who we are, what we do and what we do not do.

In short

The Level Code is a software development SASU based at 266 rue Nationale, Lille (SIREN 106 997 059), chaired by Romain Nivelle. It designs custom business software, mobile, web and field applications, B2B SaaS, and takes over existing codebases. It also publishes its own software, Trackary, dedicated to managing equipment fleets and construction machinery.

What The Level Code does

We build software that supports a company's day-to-day work: internal tools, applications for field teams, web and mobile applications, SaaS products sold to other businesses. We also take over software written by others, when the vendor has left or no one dares touch it any more.

Trackary, our own software

The Level Code publishes Trackary, equipment fleet management software for construction machinery. It covers the equipment fleet, tracking of VGP (vérification générale périodique), the periodic thorough inspection French law requires for lifting equipment, maintenance, faults and mechanics' scheduling, on web and mobile. The technicians' mobile app works even without a network: data already loaded stays accessible, and entries sync once the connection returns.

Trackary is the new name for Voirail. We designed and built it in-house, and we run it in production. That is what lets us speak concretely about offline mode, synchronisation, backups and running costs: these are subjects we live with on our own product, not only with our clients. The Trackary, our work page details what the software does and does not do.

How we work

We do not quote for a project we have not scoped. Scoping is done on site, with the people who will use the software; development then takes place remotely from Lille, with a usable first version delivered early and regular check-ins. The detail is on the Method page.

The source code is in your repository from the first commit, third-party service accounts are in your name, and there is no licence and no exit fee. You can continue with another provider at any time.

  1. Scope: a day on site, rules, roles, exceptions and data written down.
  2. Build: a usable version delivered early, tested by your teams.
  3. Run: training, documentation, monitoring and tested backups.

What we do not do

We do not build brochure websites, online shops, SEO services for third parties, or brand design. We build business software, applications and SaaS products. If your need falls outside our line of work, we would rather tell you at the first conversation than take on a project that is not ours.

We do not name clients without their written agreement. That is why this page does not list references: the public proof of our work is Trackary, and our guides, which explain how we think.

Contact us

By email at contact@thelevelcode.com or by phone on 06 73 80 64 34. We are based in Lille and work across the whole Lille metropolitan area and throughout France. You can come to us with a simple problem to solve: a requirements specification is not needed for a first conversation, and our guide on software requirements specifications can help if you want to prepare one.
